Why is the Garmin Nuvi 205 shows FM-2316 on the map instead of the actual street name?

I just bough the Garmin Nuvi 205, it works great but I noticed that the street behin my house instead of showing the street name, it shows some sort of code. Does anyone knows why, or how can I fix it?

Are you in Texas? They have farm-to-market roads that have names like that. For example, I used to live near a street called Bryan Rd. However, it was also farm-to-market road 396, or FM-396.
Only so many names can be accounted for in a road network database. It gets cumbersome to have a field for the primary name of the street plus five alternate names for the same street. It’s also possible that the group that collected the road data (probably NAVTEQ) did not know of FM-2316’s more colloquial name.
