What is the best GPS for around $400?
GarminThe Beef Hammer asked:
I like the Garmin Nuvi series. As far as the POIs go, can you look up local chain restauraunts and such? Or is it only big chain places such as McDonalds, Burger King, etc….

I have a TomTom One XL. It has pretty much everything in the POI list (like everything in the yellow pages!). It’s satellite reception is great and it’s very easy to use. The speaker is also loud and clear - so no worries about not hearing it. It’s a bit difficult to read if sunlight is directly on it, but it’s usable.
In general, here’s the price break for GPSs
under $300
The voice tells you when to turn, but it does not speak the name of the street you need to turn onto. However, the name of the street is displayed on the screen.
$300 to $400
The voice announces the name of the street.
$400+
You can subscribe to live traffic updates for a monthly fee. It also plays MP3 and other non-essential things.

I think TomTom GO 720 is good. This device is thinner, faster, and has a nicer screen. I find a review for it ,you can have a look.
And it is not expensive. A recent deal for it is only $400.
